WHAT IS LUPUS? Lupus is a chronic, auto immune disease which causes inflammation of various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood and kidneys. The most familiar kind is the so-called butterfly rash which crosses the bridge of the nose and expands outward on the cheeks to resemble the shape of a butterfly. MORE>

CT CHAPTER: The Connecticut Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. was established in May of 1973. We maintain our office at 97 South Street, Suite 110 in West Hartford, CT. Our chapter consist of a 10 member Board of Directors and a Medical & Scientific Advisory Board consisting of 15 physicians. We are a non-profit, non-sectarian, mostly volunteer organization with the exception of 2 paid employees. MORE>
